My Journey: So what? Now what? 


I worked in Corporate America for 26 years. Climbed the latter and rose to the executive ranks.  My colleagues were super smart and engaging. All type A's, getting things done just like I like it. The money was fantastic, but I came to love the luxuries and hate the grind. You start asking yourself after years of late nights, continuously working through emails, and solving problems every day, is this it? So what? Now what? My husband and I started dreaming about our future. It's important you know that my husband, Chef Craig, and I married 4 years ago.  He's classically trained from the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York, works out religiously and has the patience of a saint (usually). Foodie, fit and friendly—my man!

Our dream...? A small restaurant. Maybe a 60-seater. Local foods, sustainability throughout.  Nurturing our customers, supporting the earth and being an active boost for the community. We want to bring homemade and family eating back to people through fresh casual comfort.  Warm décor, local artists, and, of course, we'd know our customers by name.  We started planning menus, looking at commercial kitchen equipment and eating out regularly to "benchmark." ;-)

That's when my boss at the time recommended an abstract called Exponential Organizations. In a nutshell, technology is growing so quickly, that businesses must integrate technology or die. Simple. So I started thinking. How can we turn a restaurant into an Exponential Organization? This needed out of the box thinking. A moonshot. Blue Ocean stuff. The answer went through me like electricity. We are going to feed the world by giving everyone the ability to be their own restaurant. We will be like Airbnb for food!  AND everyone can get back to eating fresh, homemade food. If everyone buys local and shares their food, we could eliminate waste and hunger while promoting social well-being!

I left my job 6 weeks after this eureka moment and then UGottaEat (UGE) was born.

UGottaEat is an app platform (technology) that gives everyone access to homemade and freshly made food on-demand. You can conveniently share your home cooked meals within your network, AND find freshly made meals from local chefs. We are bringing awareness to mindfully feeding our bodies (eating), socially engaging with our community (sharing), and actively eliminating waste & hunger (loving).

Our social mission is to support healthier living, eliminate waste, and end food insecurity.

Fast-forwarding to the present, we have some big news, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise working capital and ask that you give until it hurts. So I have an ask: Will you help fund UGE, so we can change the world for the better?

The funds will be used for 2 things:

– To Launch and scale the current app to market (bug fixes, marketing, operations), and – Create a new Sharing Economy Category with the UGE app version 2.0 where you request meals for UGE chefs will bid on—"It's like having a personal chef in your pocket."

We want to feed your families fresh foods. Be kind to the earth. Share meals. Eliminate Waste. Eliminate Hunger. Love your neighbor.  You accomplish all of this when you become a part of UGottaEat and support our crowdfunding campaign.

My sister told me if I want to eliminate hunger, then eliminate hunger. Don't talk about it. Be about it. So…let's do this.
